What does one process cost you?

Pick the process that eats the most time. Say how many people work on it, how long each spends on it a week, and what an hour of their time costs. You get hours and dollars a year, starting from the low end of our range.

Your process, as full-time years

Each square is one full-time person for a year, 1,920 hours.
Hours this process takes a year
96,00050 full-time people
What those hours cost a year
$3,360,000a year, in CAD
A system could give back
24,000 hours or morea year, about 12.5 full-time people
That time is worth
$840,000 to $1,680,000a year, in CAD

Hours are counted at the low end of the range we use. Dollars run from the low end to the high end. The proposal replaces both with the number measured on your own data.

Where we would look first

Systems we build for a process like this one. Each page shows what it does and how its value is measured.

This is a rough number. Before we build anything, the proposal measures the value of each system on your real data, such as hours saved a week or dollars saved a year.

How the number is made.

Four steps, in the order they run. Nothing is hidden behind a form.

  1. 01

    Hours a year

People, times the hours each spends a week, times 48 working weeks.

  2. 02

    What they cost

Those hours, times what an hour of their time costs you. Count salary, benefits and overhead, not the pay slip alone.

  3. 03

What a system could give back

A share of those hours. Hours are counted at the low end of our range, dollars run from the low end to the high end. The share is a planning input and never a promise. The proposal measures the real one.

  4. 04

    The floor

If the low end comes to less than one person's working year, 1,920 hours, the calculator says so and does not sell you the process.

What it cannot tell you.

A calculator is three numbers and some arithmetic. Here is where that stops.

  • It does not know your process. It multiplies three numbers you typed.
  • It is not a quote and not a forecast. Nothing here is a promise about your result.
  • It cannot see the hours that hide in handoffs, rework and waiting. The mapping calls and the audit look for those.
